Shopping sucks now. Nothing fits. I'm too big but not big enough. SUCKY. And no WAY am I paying $68 for jeans that I don't even know will fit. At least that's my way of thinking now. Who knows, maybe I'll change my mind. I no longer like shopping.

We're heading out to Colorado Thursday for our vacation of the year - and to celebrate 6 years of marriage. We'll be in Denver for 2 days and Colorado Springs for 3. I'm not so worried about finding out things to DO in Denver, but rather where to stay. Jimmy wanted to stay close to the stadium as we'll be going to a Rockies game, but in my experience most stadiums are not in a great part of town. Anyone been that can tell us areas NOT to stay, or areas where we can do a lot of walking around within our hotel's area so we aren't driving everywhere?

Ice Storm
So no work (well, not going in anyway, work is actually open) or school today - ice storm strikes. Roads are actually okay since this has been known about and they have been prepared to salt the roads. Me thinks that the schools will be closed again tomorrow, and perhaps me home as well. Supposed to have rain/freezing rain most of today and then it will turn to snow tomorrow, so if it freezes and then snows over, that's even more dangerous.

Birthday Party Ideas
So Jimmy turns 30 in January and I am throwing him a party. It's not a surprise party per se, as in he knows he's having one, but I do want to surprise him with the decorations and the 'activities'.

I'm thinking a sports themed party - reminiscent of a kids party. Decorations are easy to find. I'm looking for ideas for games that are like kids games but with an adult spin, or a game that kids play that adults would have fun with as well. The only catch is that it cannot be an 'organized' game. What I mean by that is that it shouldn't be something that everyone has to get in a circle for or a group. I'm thinking something along the lines of pin the tail on the donkey, but it can be pass the football to the receiver or something in that area. Cause someone could just do that and not have to have everyone do it. Does that make sense?

Just to give a little piece of background - I'm doing the whole 'kids' idea thing b/c once you hit 30, that's it, you're an adult. I mean when you're 29 you can still say you're 'in your 20's' which could mean 20-29. Once you hit 30, BAM no more! You're 30, a grown-up, no questions asked. So, you know, kinda like a last hurrah to childhood. Supposed to be fun :) And he's a sports nut, the theme fits him perfectly. Much more than all the '30' themed ones.

Online Airfare
Anyone know of any good airfare sites that truly can provide you a steal? Looking at all these sites is giving me a headache - and they only have about $10-$20 difference from each other and the actual airline site. That's not much of a discount if you ask me.

Also, any tips on when to search?

Btw- this is for christmas travel.

A question for the masses

So, apparently I have a balance on a credit card that I didn't know about.  For some reason I was paying on this after I moved to KS, but stopped receiveing bills.  Just didn't really think of it, looking back, I guess I thought I had paid it off.

The card expires this year.  The last debt on there was last year.  I'm really not trying to cheat anyone out of money, but I'm curious as to what can legally happen if I didn't pay.  I remember my brother telling me that your debt is cancelled after 7 years of not being paid.  No clue if this is true.  Once the card is expired, is the debt still active?

I'm just aggravated that I was receiving bills after I moved to KS, but my last payment was in March 2006 - and I never received another bill - b/c I would have paid if I received it.  GRRRRR.

Good thing is, they told me it did not accrue interest....

anyone know anything about doctors and what they can and cannot tell you over the phone?

I know everyone always assumes that if they won't tell you over the phone that it's bad news - but if that's ALWAYS the case, why can't they just tell you?

Are there some things they won't tell you regardless of good bad?  Do they tell you if you're pregnant over the phone?

Office Pranks
My group at work is going to be playing 'games' - team builder stuff that takes place during regular working hours.

One of the things we're going to be able to do is play jokes on each other - BUT they 1) cannot be so that they really mess with someone's work - or ability to work  2) be mean (obviously)  3) take up a lot of time for either the joskster or the jokee.

I  need ideas people - GOOD ideas!

For example purposes: it was suggested by the company that runs these 'games' to switch the M and N keys on a keyboard.

We also have to tell what types of pranks we did, so we'll be claiming responsibility.....

Let the ideas roll!

Good Times

Friday: started snowing about 3:30-4pm - no one can drive in snowfall. Takes me an HOUR AND 15 MIN to get home (normally 25 min)  with a SPLITTING HEADACHE, and my eyes can barely stay open.  Came home, ate a sandwich, went to bed (7pm) - woke sporadically (when Jimmy called and then came home) but pretty much didn't get up until the next morning at 9.

Saturday:  watched TV ALL DAY to catch up on my shows - went to dinner came home, watched more TV, went back to bed.

Sunday: almost burned my house down (not really) but did start a fire from my stove.  Turned the wrong burner on, had a pot holder on it, smoked out the whole entire house and caught fire when I took it off.

Monday: everyone is off but me b/c for some reason we get MLK day but not president's day.

Only thing I want to do is get through today quickly so I can watch Prison Break and 24 tonight!
